How to Tag Monitored Coverage

Tagging and Un-Tagging Coverage

Tags are useful for categorizing articles, especially when categories tend to be more subjective in nature (i.e., content to be included in a weekly newsletter or for publication verticals such as business publications, tech publications, top tier publications, industry publications, etc.). By adopting tagging in your workflow, you are able to manually curate a list of articles that would otherwise not be returned together via common search keywords.

To Begin Tagging New Mentions:

You will need to access a list view of coverage, which you can access using one of the following methods:

From Dashboards:

1. Click on the Analytics tab, select Dashboards, then click on the dashboard you would like to view.

2. Click on the number of Total Mentions in the Total Mentions chart.

From Earned Media:

1. Click on the Coverage tab and select the Earned Media option.

2. Select the Search you would like to see coverage from.

3. Select the All Mentions page in the middle of the screen.

Once you have accessed a list view of the coverage, you can Tag articles Individually or in Bulk.

Tagging Individual Mentions:

When accessing a list view of coverage from the Total Mentions chart in New Dashboards:

1. Locate the mention, then hover over row for the mention in the results list.

2. Click on the Add Tag icon or the Add Tag button.

Once you click the Add Tag icon, you can either:

3. Search for an already existing tag that you want to tag the article. You can do this by starting to type the tag's name, or selecting it from either My Tags or Shared with Me.

4. Create a New Tag by typing in the desired name of the Tag and hit Enter.

5. Once the tag is selected or created, click the Save button.

*Note: If you are creating a new tag that other team members would need to use as well, you must SHARE the new tag by navigating to:  "Coverage" --> "Tags" --> *Locate the tag you created* --> Click the "Less Than icon" next to the Tag --> "Share Tag"

When accessing a list view of coverage from the Earned Media area:

1. Locate the mention, then hover over row for the mention in the results list.

2. Click on the Add Tag icon or the Add Tag button.

Once you click the Add Tag icon you can either:

3. Search for an already existing tag that you want to tag the article. You can do this by starting to type the tags name, or selecting it from either My Tags or Shared with Me.

4. Create a New Tag by typing in the desired name of the Tag and hit Enter.

5. Once the tag has been selected or created, click on the Save button.

*Note: If you are creating a new tag that other team members would need to use as well, you must SHARE the new tag by navigating to:  "Coverage" --> "Tags" --> *Locate the tag you created* --> Click the "Less Than icon" next to the Tag --> "Share Tag"

Tagging and Un-Tagging Mentions in Bulk:

You can Tag articles in Bulk to increase efficiency (beyond Tagging articles individually) if you see that there are many articles that you think should be added to a Tag.  Tagging  is the foundation of a Newsletter, as articles that appear in a Newsletter are selected by adding them to a specific Tag.

They can also be used in searches (Tag:"Xyz"), so it is possible to run entire dashboards off of your curated coverage. For example, perhaps you want to keep track of articles your team has placed. You can Tag your coverage according to employee names and then run a report on the impact of stories by employee. Follow the steps below to Tag multiple articles at once.  Note: You can bulk tag up to 1,000 articles while navigating from page-to-page!

There are two methods that can be used for Bulk Tagging and Un-Tagging articles:

When working from the Total Mentions chart in Dashboards:

1. Click on the checkboxes to the left of the individual articles you would like to tag or un-tag. (Click on the checkbox next to Select Current Page at the top to select all articles on the first page NOTE: You can adjust the total number of articles per page to select up to 200 articles from the first page, then select individual articles on other pages of results.)

2. Click on the Tag icon at the top of the list and select Add tags or Remove tags.

Note: You can bulk tag/un-tag up to 1,000 articles while navigating from page-to-page, but must select articles individually beyond the first page of coverage. The total articles you have selected will be listed at the top of the search results page, as you continue to navigate from page-to-page. You will also note that the article counter will reflect the maximum amount allowed of the 1,000 articles.

Once you click the Add Tag icon you can either:

3. Search for an already existing tag that you want to tag the article. You can do this by starting to type the tags name, or selecting it from either My Tags or Shared with Me.
